Boy Scout Troop 472 - A GREAT Place to be a Scout!


Boy Scout Troop 472 is a boy-led troop where boys learn self-sufficiency, confidence, and leadership through fun activities and events while living out the timeless values embodied in the Scout Oath and Law.

Webelos Scouts/prospective new members:This site provides an overview of Boy Scout Troop 472 in Clinton Township, Michigan. We welcome you at any troop meeting to meet our members and leaders, and find out what we're all about. Troop 472 generally meets at 7:00 p.m. in the Activity Center at St. Thecla Catholic Church, 20762 Nunneley (near the intersection of Groesbeck and Metro Parkway), in Clinton Township. Meet in front of the Clinton Township Senior Center.

Scouts will need to dress for the weather and playing soccer (in Class B shirts). Scouts will need to bring water and a compass.

July 29 Troop Meeting will be at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library South Branch

We're meeting in the Meeting Room at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library South Branch (on Gratiot by the Star theater) on Tuesday, July 29th. Scouts will need to bring their Scout handbooks so we can work on updating advancement. Patrols will need to bring their Patrol glad materials so they can work on their Patrol flags. There will be a committee meeting and a Board of Review. We have the room starting at 6:45pm and must be out of the room by 8:45pm.

Class B uniforms for summer

We're in Class B (Scout/troop t-shirt) uniforms for summer, through August 31, 2014. Remember that we do not wear/bring Class A uniforms to the MIS Fundraising Weekends. Class A uniforms are required to be worn to, from, and during portions of summer camp.

Community Garden

Contact Mr. Dave Bean if you'd like to spend some time working in the community garden located behind the old Heidelberg on Gratiot. Scouts need to be accompanied by an adult and advance arrangements need to be made through Mr. Bean to be out at the community garden. If a patrol or group of Scouts is going to go out to work on the garden, 2-deep leadership is required.

Summer Camp Paperwork

Permission slips, health forms, and merit badge selections need to get turned in. Merit badge selections are due to Mr. Brown by June 6, 2014 so we can get them entered before the system closes for us on June 8. See Mrs. Combs for permission slips. Please turn in your health forms to Mrs Bearrs. Remember that parts A, B, & C are required for summer camp (part C is the physical that needs to be signed by a physician). Health forms are due by June 17, 2014.
